Introduction about TPL and its CSR
TPL Corp recognizes CSR as a core element of its operations. TPL companies have contributed more than Rs. 25 million in the areas of education, health, and environment during the last financial years.
As the group continues to grow, we have implemented initiatives to ensure corporate social responsibility and hence formalizing our collective compassion into a unified program that will support individuals and strengthen our impact altogether.
TPL has prioritized its CSR initiatives under Education, Environment and Health.
44% children between the ages of 5 and 16 in Pakistan are still out of school (Source, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training – Government of Pakistan, 2017) further increases this due to dropouts in later years and lack of trained teachers who fail to have a meaningful communication to help develop interest in the students learning abilities. Education and Teachers Training are both vital to transform the life of a child, but for many this is a distant dream.
Pakistan ranks seventh in the list of countries most vulnerable to climatic change (Ministry of Climate Change – Government of Pakistan, 2016). TPL has taken numerous initiatives that not only promote a greener and cleaner Pakistan, but it also endeavors to conserve energy through smart technologies.
Out of every ten Pakistani citizens, three fall below the national poverty line (Asian Development Bank, 2017). Provision of quality healthcare facilities and hygiene ensures sustainable well-being of the society, which can contribute positively towards the country’s prosperity.
